Titus 1: 15-16
15To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
Actions speak louder than words. We all have people in our lives that “talk a good game”, yet when it comes time to put those words into action they fall short of the mark. Yet we must at the same time remember that to the pure all things are pure. The pure can see the truth behind the action, and understand that all that happens is part of God’s plan. God does not make mistakes, nor is he a liar. We all go through seasons of change, or times of being uncomfortable, but we must remain among the pure, and recognize the opportunity to praise the God who gives, and takes away. To talk of Godly traits, and spout righteousness, then turn and act out of selfishness, and betray our words, is a blight to God. If our actions do not match our words, we become that which we despise. We become corrupted. We must live our lives with faith in Christ Jesus. As a result, we must be a living breathing example for the world to see. Christ gave us a living example to strive to follow. Let us all proclaim as Paul did, “follow me as I follow Christ”. Then our words will only be needed to reinforce our actions, the world will know us by our hearts, not by our mouth.
Peace,
Brian
