Ephesians 4: 18

¹⁸They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

 

The more things change the more they stay the same. Still today we have many that are separated from the life of God. Just like back then, many people today will urge you to follow the same trend. There is a growing consensus in society that we no longer need God. That it is all a fairy tale and we should depend only on ourselves. While that sounds like a great deal at face value, you might want to urge people to think on that for a bit. If we rely on ourselves then we are only capable of what we ourselves can accomplish…..folks that is not much. Without the Lord’s blessing in our life we will not be fully successful. We will not be able to soar to the heights He has planned for us. You want the door open? You better start knocking! You want to find the truth? You might want to start seeking? It all starts with asking, and that takes a bent knee, and the admission that you cannot do it on your own. Do not allow your heart to become hard. It is an easy things to do, and will happen if you do not guard it. It does not take commitment, just indifference, to harden the heart. By the same token, it is not hard to find the Lord, just bend a knee, and look skyward!
