Ephesians 4: 25
25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
Words we all would do well to live by. We have become more and more comfortable with letting that white lie slip by in an effort to not have the hard conversations. We are urged to just lay it out there, what is the worst that can happen? Some people might not like you? Some people might want to distance themselves from you? Oh I know the worst of the worst…..people might talk about you! Folks we have the responsibility to be honest and truthful, even if it causes some discomfort. As the Psalmist tells us we can trust the wounds of a friend, but our enemies will shower us with kisses! When we soften our answers with less than the truth we do in fact become our friends enemy. We are like the people that tell their friends they sing very well then let them go off to American Idol! A lie is a lie, even if that lie is told out of love!
Peace,
Brian
