Tuesday the 12th

Luke 15:  8"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' 10In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Have you ever lost something that was important to you? Have you ever gone to retrieve something you knew you had, then when you go to look for it, you find that it is not where you left it? Think of that feeling you get, that sinking hollow feeling that shows up in the pit of your stomach, maybe you get a tingling sensation in your face, and hands….no matter the sensation, one thing is for sure, the thing that you held so dear, the thing that you thought was so important is now gone. Your life stops, your world quits turning, and the only thing that matters is finding what you lost. You will clear your schedule, you will not leave one place unchecked, suddenly no place seems to ridiculous to look. I want you to think about how hard you will search for that thing you lost, I want you to think about how determined you are to find it…..then I want you to realize, that is how hard Christ will look for you. That is the feeling that Christ must feel, as He searches for the precious thing that is not where He left it. Maybe you have just stepped off the path for a moment, maybe you have never found the starting point of the path, who knows, maybe you are further down the path than the Lord anticipated. What you must understand is that when you feel lost, there is a search party out looking for you. That search party is lead by Christ Himself. He is the good Shepard, and He will not lose one of His flock. He is searching right now, looking for those that have lost their way, helping guide those that have wandered back into His care. Know this, each time one of His flock is found, there is a celebration. Just like the joy you feel when you find the item you lost, so too Christ celebrates each time one of His flock is found. Know this, while you are out in the world, and you feel lost, when you feel as though you are all alone, know that He is searching for you. He loves you, and can’t wait to get you home. Just like when you lose something you will stop at nothing to find it, so Christ feels for you. You are important, you are loved, and you are that special to the Lord. There is a celebration awaiting, and it is a party you do not want to miss!
